Cooking Safety: Turkey Fryers

Thanksgiving is here and as we all appreciate family time and delectable food around the holidays, we must consider safe cooking. If you are thinking of deep frying a turkey this year there are a few things you need to consider because they are extremely dangerous if misused. Remember to set up your deep fryer outside and away from anything combustible; this includes the home and garage. It is important to use the correct amount of oil required for cooking because adding too much could cause an overflow and result in fire.

NEVER deep fry a frozen turkey. It is extremely dangerous and can explode. November is the time to be thankful for the things we have both tangible and intangible so we want to keep it that way. Inform yourself with this video of a deep fryer turkey fire. Have a safe and happy Thanksgiving.
