Board of Public Works

§ 17-10. Board of Public Works.

  1. How constituted. The Board of Public Works shall consist of seven members composed of four citizen members, and three Alderpersons, one from each district of the City. The citizen members will serve staggered three-year terms.Powers and duties.
  2. The Board of Public Works shall have such powers and perform such duties as are prescribed by Wisconsin Statutes from time to time, particularly Ch. 62 thereof, and such duties as the Common Council may impose from time to time.
  3. President and Secretary. Pursuant to § 62.14, Wis. Stat., the members of the Board of Public Works shall, on the first Tuesday in May of each year, choose a President of the Board from their number, and the City Clerk shall be the Secretary of the Board.
  4. Quorum, records, and reports. A majority of the Board of Public Works shall constitute a quorum for doing business. They shall keep a record of all their proceedings, which shall be open at all reasonable times to the inspection of any elector of such City, and shall make a report to the Common Council on or before the first day of March in each year and at such other times as may be requested by the Common Council from time to time.
