Bulk Pick Up

Johns Disposal Service will do bulk pick up twice per month, not more than 24 times per year, for each residence.  Residents are to call Johns Disposal Service to schedule bulk pick up.  (262) 473-4700  

The list for items approved for bulk pick up:  

  • Additional bagged garbage and/or recycling
  • Automotive batteries
  • Used motor and cooking oil
  • Non-commercial vehicle tires (2 per month, up to 8 annually per residence)
  • Sinks, tubs, toilets (with tank removed)
  • Furniture, chairs, sofas, beds, dressers, etc.
  • Appliances such as refrigerators, washers, and dryers
  • Building materials: lumber (with nails removed or bent down), metal, pipes, etc. Must be contained in 32-gallon containers, not to exceed 60 lbs. per container when loaded, no limit on number of containers.
  • Small auto parts (empty of all liquids)
  • Tree stumps, roots, or shrubs with intact root balls (max 60 pounds per item)
  • Water based paint: let paint dry up outdoors, or use absorbent (oil dry, kitty litter, sawdust, etc.) to soak up paint  For oil based paints, call MMSD at (414) 225-2066 or visit their website.
  • Carpet: roll tie in lengths of 4 feet or smaller.  Maximum weight of 60 pounds per roll.  Please keep carpet dry.
  • Ashes in paper bags
  • Other oversize items not banned from landfill

The following electronics are banned from the landfill, but may be collected by Johns Disposal Service by calling for a bulk pick up. One electronic device is considered one bulk pick up.  Two electronic collections are allowed per residence per year:

  • Consumer computers, consumer printers and printer/fax/copier/scanner combinations.
  • Consumer video display devices, including televisions, laptop computer and computer monitors with displays of at least 7" in the longest diagonal direction
  • Computer peripherals
  • Fax machines
  • DVD players, VCR's and other video players (i.e. DVR's)
  • Phones with video displays (i.e. cell phones)
