Happy Holidays and New Year

As One Year Ends, Another Begins

As the year gets colder and comes to an end, we have plenty to look forward to for 2013. Over the past year the department has made new strides to become more proficient in technical rescues. This has come with new purchases of rope and water rescue equipment. This year was also the first year with the staffing at 15 full-time personnel with five person shifts. In February, we will be celebrating one full year with the new staffing. The New Year is also forthcoming with new excitement in regards to the new building. Department staff is looking forward to the new building set to come in early to mid 2014.

Have a Safe and Happy New Year

Protective Special Service Unit

Around early August, the department received a new 2012 Dodge ambulance, replacing the old Medtech. However, the old ambulance still lives and has been converted to a Protective Special Service Vehicle. The new unit was placed into service in early December. It will primarily be used for crime and fire investigations by both the Fire and Police Departments. The ambulance has a new look and a new future and we look forward to using it at the next incident.
