History
The St. Francis Police Department was established in 1961 and was located at 2417 E. Saint Francis Ave.  The force was comprised of seven officers including the Chief who were responsible for protecting and serving the area previously known as the Town of Lake.  Our Northern boundary is commonly referred to as Bay View with the City of Cudahy bordering us to the South, and Lake Michigan to the East.

Current
Our department consists of 21 sworn officers covering three shifts.  The administrative staff includes the Chief of Police, Captain, and Lieutenant; three shift Sergeants, and two Detectives.  The Records Department has one full time clerical person and 4 part-time clerks.  Our office hours are Monday-Friday 8:00 am - 10:00 pm and Saturday 8:00 am - 4:00 pm, Sunday - Closed
